The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore is implementing a training project, financed by the Lombardy Region, entitled “THE COMMUNICATION ASSISTANT FOR VISUAL AND HEARING DISABILITIES. A professionalism at the service of teaching’.
The Communication Assistant is a facilitator of communication, learning, integration and relations between the person with visual and/or hearing disabilities, the family, the school, the classroom and the territorial services; in particular, he/she supports children and students with sensory disabilities in order to:
– promote and enhance their harmonious growth and autonomy through educational and habilitative interventions;
– support them in teaching, helping them to increase and develop their cognitive, relational and social potential through the learning experience;
– implement greater integration in School and Training Institutions, helping to constitute and implement the objectives of the Individualised Educational Plan.
